Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
